At St. Andrew’s C.E. Infants’ School, we believe that all our children have an equal entitlement, and should have an equal opportunity to: ‘Learn together in friendship and Faith’, developing skills to become independent, creative individuals who enjoy learning and want to progress. We want each one of our pupils to thrive, to be peacemakers, relate positively to those around them and continue learning through life.
The school receives funding from the Government to support it in trying to meet this aspiration. This is known as the Pupil Premium. In the Academic Year 2025/26 we have been allocated £129,064.
Pupil premium is additional funding, from the government, provided to schools for supporting pupils from low income families to ensure they benefit from the same opportunities as all other children. The following criteria qualify pupils for pupil premium:
It is for schools to decide how the Pupil premium is spent since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils for whom they are responsible. At St. Andrew’s C.E. Infants’ School, a small proportion of children are eligible for pupil premium- 30% (September 2025).
All our staff and governors accept responsibility for ‘ disadvantaged’ pupils and are committed to meeting their pastoral, social and academic needs within a caring environment. The targeted and strategic use of pupil premium supports us in achieving our vision for each child. The amount of £1,515 is given to the school per pupil to further their development and progress in all aspects in learning.
Pupil Premium pupils progress is highlighted within our ADP (2024/2025) We aim to:
